Here is short checklist to use as a guide when you are planning a Vegas trip for the Christmas Holiday:

Vegas weather this time of year:
The weather will be cold! It can be quite nice during the daytime, but when the sun goes down the temperature will certainly drop with it. One travel tip about Vegas I often tell people is that Vegas is actually very dry during the winter time. You will notice your skin and lips feeling dry pretty quickly if you are spending a decent amount of time outside. A Vegas travel tip I share is to carry lotion and chap stick with you everywhere you go on your Vegas vacation because you will be using them frequently.

Vegas Travel Expenses: Hotel Rates, Room Accommodations, Flight Bookings
To travel to Las Vegas for Christmas you can expect that your overall traveling costs to be MUCH CHEAPER than normal. During Christmas many people are traveling to visit family, buying presents and having large family get gatherings. Not a lot of people are coming to Vegas to gamble, see shows or go out partying. This is a great time of year to get some cheap Vegas deals for your vacation.
Christmas is a VERY CHEAP time of year to travel to Las Vegas!

Is Christmas a good time to bring kids on a Vegas family vacation?
If you are looking for a family friendly time to vacation in Vegas then Christmas could be a very good time if you want to do something different. There will not be nearly as many shows and entertainment options to choose from. There also is not much activity in terms of nightlife and partying taking place during Christmas either, so you don't have to worry as much about avoiding the party crowd. One nice thing for families to see is all of the Christmas decorations that go up around town. The strip and Downtown Fremont Street both decorate quite a bit to get in theme with the Christmas holiday.

Other Vegas travel tips to keep in mind:
Christmas is NOT a big event on the calendar of Las Vegas tourism. There is very little activity in town as far as conventions, shows, entertainment, nightlife, etc. Due to such low demand this is great time to get cheap Vegas packages if you are going to travel to Vegas during Christmas.
