The Encore at Wynn Las Vegas is a luxury hotel, casino, and resort located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, directly south of the Wynn Las Vegas property. It opened on December 22, 2008, developed by Wynn Resorts under Steve Wynn’s leadership.

Origins and Development . . . . . . . .
The Encore was conceived as a sister property to Wynn Las Vegas, which opened in April 2005. By 2004, Wynn had purchased the former Desert Inn site and demolished its last two towers, the Palms and St. Andrews, to make way for the new complex Wikipedia. Construction began on April 28, 2006, the first anniversary of Wynn Las Vegas’ opening, and was built by Tutor Saliba at a cost of about $2.3 billion.
