An Old Fashioned, some red lipstick and a black dress…sigh, there’s just something undeniable about a good ol’ classic. The beloved Vegas showgirl may be an endangered species these days (insert tear), but “VEGAS! THE SHOW” preserved those feather-clad beauties and the likes of an era when everything was flashier and dripping with sophistication. What’s that you ask? Can a show filled with gorgeous and talented women a la Rat Pack era really exist in the here and now? Oh yes my friend, it sure can and all we have to say is raise that curtain and let the good times roll. With a little song, a lot of dance and that certain sultry allure that only old timey Vegas could pull off, this is a trip down memory lane and, well, it’s pretty legit. The costumes are fun, funky, sexy and so real. Ok, well maybe not the candy-themed costumes but hell, their Sammy Davis Jr. sure had us pining for an autograph. For a city that was built on pure, raw talent and obviously dolla dolla bills, this show celebrates iconic moments from the city's rich entertainment history through the decades that made the Vegas we know and love today. And we’ll tip our top hats to that.

The kitchen is closing at Diner Ross.

Spiegelworld’s restaurant at Linq Hotel is closing after its final service on Sept. 26. The company is shutting down the accompanying Glitterloft and 99 Prince bars.

Spiegelworld founder Ross Mollison informed the company via email Thursday afternoon of the closings. He explained, “While our creativity and efforts can’t always overcome current economic and market factors, it doesn’t diminish my determination to keep building on our many successes and the new opportunities that are in the pipeline.”

Mollison said fewer than 40 employees will lose their jobs, but was not sure of the exact number. The restaurant opened as a complementary venue to the “DiscoShow” dance production in August 2024.

As he announced the venues’ shutdown, Mollison had just come off a Labor Day weekend closing of The Hook in Atlantic City.

“It’s been a tough week,” the self-dubbed “Impresario” said during a phone chat Thursday, about an hour after notifying his team of the decision. “The space was a joy to build, and no doubt the asset we constructed will be reconstituted into something great.”

Mollison also contended “it’s not all doom and gloom” in Spiegelworld. He said company flagship production “Absinthe” is having its best summer ever at Caesars Palace, Superfrico at Cosmopolitan is showing strong business, and that “Atomic Saloon Show” is also selling well this summer.

But the loss of Diner Ross and its adjacent bars follows the January closing of “DiscoShow,” which anchored Spiegelworld’s $40 million build-out at Linq Hotel. Ross mentioned such adventurous projects as “OPM” at the Cosmopolitan, which shut down New Year’s Eve 2023, as an example of his risk-taking ventures.

“We swing big, you know that,” Mollison said. “Sometimes, you eat the bear. Sometimes, the bear eats you.”
