A second blockbuster deal is now targeting the Las Vegas Strip.

Just days after Caesars Entertainment agreed to be sold to billionaire businessman Tilman Fertitta, MGM Resorts has received a buyout offer valued at $18 billion from Barry Diller’s People Inc.

If both deals move forward, two of the Strip’s biggest resort operators would be taken private, marking a major shift for Las Vegas and raising questions about what new ownership could mean for the tens of thousands of people who work for the companies.
