An Old Fashioned, some red lipstick and a black dress…sigh, there’s just something undeniable about a good ol’ classic. The beloved Vegas showgirl may be an endangered species these days (insert tear), but “VEGAS! THE SHOW” preserved those feather-clad beauties and the likes of an era when everything was flashier and dripping with sophistication. What’s that you ask? Can a show filled with gorgeous and talented women a la Rat Pack era really exist in the here and now? Oh yes my friend, it sure can and all we have to say is raise that curtain and let the good times roll. With a little song, a lot of dance and that certain sultry allure that only old timey Vegas could pull off, this is a trip down memory lane and, well, it’s pretty legit. The costumes are fun, funky, sexy and so real. Ok, well maybe not the candy-themed costumes but hell, their Sammy Davis Jr. sure had us pining for an autograph. For a city that was built on pure, raw talent and obviously dolla dolla bills, this show celebrates iconic moments from the city's rich entertainment history through the decades that made the Vegas we know and love today. And we’ll tip our top hats to that.

Take a look at the kid friendly activity down at the south end of the strip at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino! This one is fun for people of all ages. It's great for families, single people, couples and anyone who is interested in getting to learn more about wildlife. Most of the animals are of course behind glass enclosures, but you do have an opportunity to physically touch some of the sting rays and other animals as well. This part is really fun because some of these sea animals know how to put on a show to entertain the crowd!

The Shark Reef Aquarium is a self-guided tour just around the corner from the Polar Journey exhibit also inside the Mandalay Bay Hotel. Throughout this tour you will see a lot of different types of sharks, fish, turtles, rays, jellyfish, starfish, piranhas, lizards, snakes, and a komodo dragon and alligator. There are guides stationed throughout the walk ways at different points where you can ask them questions about the different types of sea life inside of the museum. This exhibit is great since you get to see a lot of animals, have some interaction and you can take as much time as you want because it is self-guided so you can take the tour at your own pace.

If you buy tickets for the Shark Reef Aquarium then one tip I will give is that I suggest that you buy the combination pack for both the Shark Reef Aquarium and the Polar Express museum as well. It really is the best value package to be able to see both exhibits in one visit.

On the Shark Reef tour there were mostly adults, but there were certainly people with you children, and even toddlers inside of the aquarium. The kids that were there loved seeing the animals even more than the adults did! So, if you are a parent looking for something fun to do with your kids that the whole family will enjoy on your Las Vegas vacation, then I definitely suggest buying tickets for this fun activity. It will be a good thing to do that the kids and the parents can enjoy together. That is my advice based on my experience with both the Shark Reef Aquarium and the Polar Journey tours.
