Just around the corner from the Shark Reef Aquarium in the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino is the Polar Journey Museum. This interactive exhibit is one of two great activities for children (and adults) to learn about wildlife at Mandalay Bay. The museum opens with a short show that gives some history about the polar regions and how the changes in the region are affecting the wildlife population.

From there parents and their kids can interact with a virtual display of different sea animals to learn more about them, and take a trivia quiz to test their knowledge of penguins. Then you get to test your balance and coordination by walking on melting glaciers! From there you get to have your picture taken with a polar bear, learn more about glaciers, guess which animal makes what sound in the polar regions of the world and help guide a dolphin through the ocean.

The Polar Journey is a great small museum and exhibit that is not only fun and very appropriate for kids of all ages, it is also very educational as well. As a parent you will have a great chance to learn while also having fun with your child if you choose to do this activity while on your vacation in Las Vegas. This isn't exactly the Discovery Children's Museum in Downtown Las Vegas, but you can discover something knew while still having a blast here! The exhibit will be fun enough you young kids, but the atmosphere is calm enough that you could be a toddler or even a baby inside of the museum.

I do recommend that you buy the dual pass so that you can visit both the Shark Reef Aquarium and the Polar Journey together because the Polar Journey is much shorter than the Shark Reef Aquarium.
