When tourists visit Las Vegas on their vacation, they typically don't think about the desert life beyond the Las Vegas Strip or Downtown, and instead focus on the fun activities they planned for the trip and spend the nights partying or attending shows. Visitors will rarely encounter or socialize with locals unless they are working a shift at a hotel or casino. But even getting acquainted with the resident bartender or restaurant waitress does not provide a sufficient glimpse of how nice Vegas locals can be.

Most locals are not native, with statistics showing more than half of them being from around the country and world. For this reason, Las Vegas is very diverse and filled with people who have moved here in search for better opportunities. A diverse city will come with diverse types of people, most who are friendly or respectful. And just like any other city, you will find many communities and neighborhoods with locals that look out for each other.
