A hospitality strike, the first in 22 years, has begun at a major Las Vegas resort just days before the Formula One (F1) race will bring an influx of tourism and visitors to the area. The Culinary Union has been unable to reach a deal with Virgin Hotels. Allegedly union members are requesting wage increases to bring their salaries in line with Bellagio and Wynn employees. The hotel claims this would lead to bankruptcy for the resort. Unable to find a compromise, employees walked out. Allegedly, hundreds of applicants flooded Virgin Hotels the next day looking for work and the resort was able to fill the vacated positions without interruption to guest experience. #vegas #lasvegas #vegasstarfish #vegasnews #vegaslocal #vegasstrip #vegasstrike #unionstrike #culinaryunion #virginhotellasvegas #formulaone #F1Vegas
