Former gang boss Duane 'Keffe D' Davis has been convicted over the murder of hip hop legend Tupac Shakur three decades ago.

It took a Las Vegas jury only three hours to agree that Davis was guilty of first-degree murder with a deadly weapon with the intent to promote, further, or assist a criminal gang in the killing of Shakur.

Monday's deliberations, which followed closing arguments - which also took place earlier on Monday - came after nine days of testimony from detectives, former gang associates and documentarians.

The trial has revisited the night nearly 30 years ago when Shakur was shot while on his way to perform at a club in Las Vegas.

Davis is the only person ever charged regarding the 1996 fatal shooting of Shakur near the Las Vegas Strip. Prosecutors did not allege that Davis himself fired the shots that killed Shakur, instead accusing him orchestrating the killing.
