An Old Fashioned, some red lipstick and a black dress…sigh, there’s just something undeniable about a good ol’ classic. The beloved Vegas showgirl may be an endangered species these days (insert tear), but “VEGAS! THE SHOW” preserved those feather-clad beauties and the likes of an era when everything was flashier and dripping with sophistication. What’s that you ask? Can a show filled with gorgeous and talented women a la Rat Pack era really exist in the here and now? Oh yes my friend, it sure can and all we have to say is raise that curtain and let the good times roll. With a little song, a lot of dance and that certain sultry allure that only old timey Vegas could pull off, this is a trip down memory lane and, well, it’s pretty legit. The costumes are fun, funky, sexy and so real. Ok, well maybe not the candy-themed costumes but hell, their Sammy Davis Jr. sure had us pining for an autograph. For a city that was built on pure, raw talent and obviously dolla dolla bills, this show celebrates iconic moments from the city's rich entertainment history through the decades that made the Vegas we know and love today. And we’ll tip our top hats to that.

It was in 2016 when MGM began to charge tourists for parking at any of their hotel properties. MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Excalibur, Luxor, New York-New York, CityCenter’s Aria and Vdara, Bellagio and the Mirage all began charging. MGM did allow locals to park for free for a brief period, but now charges everyone a parking fee based on how many hours they keep their car in the parking garage. It was not long after MGM implemented parking costs that Caesars Entertainment began to charge for parking as well. Caesars Palace, Paris, Bally's, The Cromwell, Harrah's and The Flamingo all charge for parking. Caesars Entertainment currently allows Nevada residents to park for free for 24 hours in their garages. In 2017 the Wynn and Encore hotels began charging for self-parking as well after beginning to charge for valet parking in 2016. Parking fees are waived at MGM properties and Caesars Entertainment properties for players who gamble enough money to have a high level M Life or Total Rewards card.

As far as Las Vegas hotels that still offer free parking, you do still have some options on Las Vegas Blvd. The Tropicana Hotel, Treasure Island, The Venetian-Palazzo, the SLS Hotel, the Stratosphere Hotel and the Fashion Show Mall all currently have free parking. None of these resort properties have announced plans to begin charging for parking in 2018 or any time soon, and some are even using it as part of their marketing efforts to attracts more visitors to their hotels.

Circus Circus Hotel charges for valet parking, but not for self-parking. Planet Hollywood currently does not charge for self-parking because the property shares its parking garage with the Miracle Mile Shops. The off strip properties of Rio and The Palms do not charge for parking either.

It was not pleasant news to many locals and tourists when the mega resorts on Las Vegas Blvd. began to charge people for parking at their venues. Vegas had always been known for a great tourist destination that did not charge for parking. Those times are obviously over, but you can still park for free in certain areas on the strip.
