An Old Fashioned, some red lipstick and a black dress…sigh, there’s just something undeniable about a good ol’ classic. The beloved Vegas showgirl may be an endangered species these days (insert tear), but “VEGAS! THE SHOW” preserved those feather-clad beauties and the likes of an era when everything was flashier and dripping with sophistication. What’s that you ask? Can a show filled with gorgeous and talented women a la Rat Pack era really exist in the here and now? Oh yes my friend, it sure can and all we have to say is raise that curtain and let the good times roll. With a little song, a lot of dance and that certain sultry allure that only old timey Vegas could pull off, this is a trip down memory lane and, well, it’s pretty legit. The costumes are fun, funky, sexy and so real. Ok, well maybe not the candy-themed costumes but hell, their Sammy Davis Jr. sure had us pining for an autograph. For a city that was built on pure, raw talent and obviously dolla dolla bills, this show celebrates iconic moments from the city's rich entertainment history through the decades that made the Vegas we know and love today. And we’ll tip our top hats to that.

In this episode of the 'What Happened To... Vegas?' series, we're taking a look at one of the biggest changes in Las Vegas dining.

There was a time when almost every major casino on the Strip had a buffet. From legendary spots like Carnival World Buffet at the Rio to iconic favorites across Las Vegas, buffets weren't just a place to eat—they were part of the Vegas experience.

So...what happened?

In this video, we explore why so many Vegas buffets have disappeared over the years, from rising food costs, labor shortages, and food waste to the changing business model of modern Las Vegas. We also dive into the rise of celebrity chef restaurants, fine dining, and the growing popularity of food halls that have replaced many former buffet spaces.

But did Vegas make the right decision?

We'll compare the value of today's remaining buffets like Bacchanal Buffet and the Wynn Buffet against celebrity restaurants and fine dining experiences, and discuss why opinions are so divided. Some people believe Vegas dining has never been better, while others miss the days when a buffet offered incredible value, endless variety, and became a highlight of every trip.

Now it's your turn to join the conversation.

???? **Which Vegas buffet do you miss the most?**

???? **Would you rather spend your money at a buffet or a celebrity restaurant?**

???? **Did Vegas get it right, or should more buffets make a comeback?**

If you enjoy exploring the history of Las Vegas and how the city continues to evolve, be sure to subscribe for more episodes in the **What Happened To...?** series, where we uncover the stories behind the biggest changes on the Las Vegas Strip.
