An Old Fashioned, some red lipstick and a black dress…sigh, there’s just something undeniable about a good ol’ classic. The beloved Vegas showgirl may be an endangered species these days (insert tear), but “VEGAS! THE SHOW” preserved those feather-clad beauties and the likes of an era when everything was flashier and dripping with sophistication. What’s that you ask? Can a show filled with gorgeous and talented women a la Rat Pack era really exist in the here and now? Oh yes my friend, it sure can and all we have to say is raise that curtain and let the good times roll. With a little song, a lot of dance and that certain sultry allure that only old timey Vegas could pull off, this is a trip down memory lane and, well, it’s pretty legit. The costumes are fun, funky, sexy and so real. Ok, well maybe not the candy-themed costumes but hell, their Sammy Davis Jr. sure had us pining for an autograph. For a city that was built on pure, raw talent and obviously dolla dolla bills, this show celebrates iconic moments from the city's rich entertainment history through the decades that made the Vegas we know and love today. And we’ll tip our top hats to that.

Excalibur Hotel & Casino is a large, mid-range resort on the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip (3850 S Las Vegas Blvd), at the Tropicana Avenue intersection near Luxor, New York-New York, and MGM Grand.

Opened on June 19, 1990, by Circus Circus Enterprises (now operated by MGM Resorts International and owned by Vici Properties), it was once the world’s largest hotel. It features a playful medieval castle theme inspired by King Arthur’s legendary sword Excalibur and European castles, with distinctive white towers, colorful turrets, battlements, and drawbridge-like elements. The exterior is one of the Strip’s most recognizable, while interiors lean into heraldic and Arthurian kitsch in a fun, theme-park style that appeals especially to families and budget travelers.

The property has about 3,981 rooms across 28-story towers (some recently renovated), offering standard king or double-queen accommodations plus suites. Rooms are generally comfortable and functional with modern updates, though the castle theme is more pronounced in public areas than guest rooms.

Its casino spans roughly 92,000–100,000 square feet and includes slots, table games, a poker room, VIP areas, and a BetMGM sportsbook. Dining options range from The Steakhouse at Camelot and the irreverent Dick’s Last Resort to a buffet, food court, and casual spots. Entertainment highlights include the long-running Tournament of Kings (a medieval dinner show with jousting), Thunder from Down Under, the Australian Bee Gees Show, and other performances. Family attractions feature the Fun Dungeon arcade.

Outdoor amenities include a large pool complex (around 30,000 square feet of deck) with multiple pools—one with a waterslide and one adults-only—plus cabanas, a spa, and fitness center. Free trams and walkways connect it to neighboring MGM properties like Luxor and Mandalay Bay.

Overall, Excalibur delivers affordable, lively Strip access with a strong dose of whimsical castle atmosphere, solid gaming and entertainment, and family-friendly features, though some find the décor dated or overly cheesy compared to newer luxury resorts.
