This video about applying for a mortgage to buy a home in Southern Nevada is for our troops. Many people do not realize that we have a large military population in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson. The two main military bases are Nellis Air Force Base and Creech Air Force Base. We have a number of active duty members of our military living in Clark County. We also have retirees from the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and the Coast Guard.

Amber provides us with a general overview of how VA Home Loans work for a service member looking to buy a house in Las Vegas. She mentions how the qualification process and credit score standards are different, the maximum limit amount for a VA Loan, the interest rate on a VA Loan and overcoming hurdles for people who have had issues that have caused them to be been denied at some point in the process.

Additionally, in Clark County, if you are a disabled veteran then you get a reduction in your property taxes. You must have your DD-214 to show to the Assessor's Office, and they will tell you how much of a reduction you receive based on your level of disability.
