On October 1, 1993, a 21-year-old armored car driver pulled away from the
Circus Circus casino in Las Vegas with roughly $2.5 million in the back — and
wasn't seen again for twelve years.

Heather Tallchief was a Loomis armored truck driver with a clean record and a
few weeks on the job. While two guards were inside servicing the ATMs, she put
the truck in gear and drove into one of the largest single-driver armored car
heists in American history. The man who planned it, Roberto Solis, was never
inside the casino at all — a convicted killer and prison poet decades her senior
who talked his way into the perfect inside job. They fled the country, lived
under false names in the Netherlands, and had a son. Then Solis vanished with
the money. Tallchief surrendered in 2005, served 63 months, and paid back money
that no longer existed. Solis was never caught. The cash was never recovered.

This is the full story of the Circus Circus armored car heist: the plan, the
empty curb, the twelve years in hiding, and the one weakness no casino camera
was pointed at.
