Sunset Station is a Station Casinos locals hotel-casino in Henderson, Nevada (Green Valley), about 8–10 miles southeast of the Las Vegas Strip at 1301 W Sunset Road. It opened June 10, 1997 as Henderson’s first hotel-casino resort and still leans into a Spanish/Mediterranean theme inspired by cities like Barcelona and the architecture of Antoni Gaudí.

It is a mid-range, neighborhood-style property rather than a mega-Strip resort: more practical, less chaotic, and popular with locals plus visitors who want bowling, movies, a pool, and gaming without Strip prices or crowds.

Hotel and setting
A 21-story tower (Henderson’s tallest building at about 230 feet) holds roughly 448–457 rooms and suites. The tower was renovated in 2016. Rooms are typically described as comfortable and straightforward—deluxe kings and double queens, some suites—with free Wi-Fi, pillowtop beds, and standard amenities rather than ultra-luxury finishes. Check-in is usually 3 p.m., checkout 11 a.m. There is a seasonal outdoor pool with cabanas, a 24-hour fitness center, and ample free parking.

The property sits on a large site near Galleria at Sunset mall, Ethel M Chocolate Factory and cactus gardens, and Cowabunga Bay water park.

Casino and nightlife
The casino is large (on the order of 164,000 sq ft of gaming space) with 2,000+ slot machines, 30+ table games, video poker (including high-payback options), bingo, poker, and keno. The upgraded STN Sportsbook features a very large LED video wall (around 150–152 feet), bar seating, and carrels.

The signature space is the Gaudi Bar, refreshed in May 2026. It keeps the original Gaudí-inspired stained-glass ceiling and organic forms while adding a sculptural round bar, a hand-blown crystal chandelier, jewel-tone seating, and an adjacent table-games pit. Reviews call it one of the more distinctive and attractive bar spaces among locals casinos. Other bars include a new casino bar, Kingpin Lounge (near bowling), and others. A country nightlife venue, Stoney’s Sunset, was added as part of ongoing renovations.

Dining and entertainment

There is also a food court and other casual spots. The old Feast Buffet closed years ago.

Ongoing renovations (casino floor, sportsbook, Gaudi area, entries, restrooms, and more) have been refreshing the property without fully abandoning its original character.

Who it suits
Sunset Station works well if you want a self-contained stay with bowling, movies, kids’ facilities, a pool, and a full casino at locals-oriented prices, or if you are staying in Henderson / Green Valley. It is less ideal if your trip is all about walking the Strip or wanting cutting-edge luxury and mega-resorts.
