In this video, I interview former homeless and recovering addicts Robert and George, who are now members of the Shine a Light Foundation in Las Vegas. They share with us their experience living in the underground tunnels of Las Vegas, which stretch over 600 miles across the city. These tunnels exist to control floods and interconnect water basins across the valley, but they have become home to over 1,500 homeless. While tourists who visit Las Vegas have fun partying, drinking and going to shows at the Las Vegas Strip and Fremont Street, Robert and George explain how life works under the lights and glamour, how they ended up in the tunnels, how they build communities, and how they ultimately got out of them to help other homeless as part of the non-profit organization.
