In 2 Broke Girls, Max Black is used to rude customers, but this table pushes it too far. A group of older women sit down at the diner and immediately start criticizing everything: the sticky table, the food, the service, and even Max’s earrings.
At first, Max tries to keep doing her job. But when the comments turn personal, she stops playing the polite waitress. To Max, age does not give anyone permission to treat people badly. If someone walks into the diner acting cruel, she is going to answer them the same way she would answer anyone else.
The scene works because Max does not pretend customer service means accepting every insult. She wipes the table, resets the conversation, and starts over with a smile that is almost more dangerous than the rant. It is classic Max: sharp, direct, and somehow still doing her job.
