An atomic bomb set off in the comic world when Sin City was released in 1991 due to the uniqueness of its imagery. The first story was published in the 5th-anniversary special of Dark Horse, which continued until June 1992 and was numbered in 13 parts. It was the first time where black and white illustrations were used to present a neo-noir storytelling form. The noir presentation was created by creator and artist Frank Miller, who wanted not just to cut out the clutter but also to project ‘sin’ most effectively. Frank's inclination toward black-and-white imagery was because of his liking for classic crime movies from the olden times.
