The Mafia Burger has a story straight out of old Las Vegas! ????
Back in the mob days of Las Vegas, the Food Factory was a neighborhood burger joint with a connection to one of the most infamous names in Vegas history. But there was something else unusual about this place — the way they made their hamburgers.
They had a simple little trick: take a small cookie cutter and remove the center from each burger patty. Save those pieces, and eventually you had enough meat for another burger. Old-school Vegas ingenuity at its finest!
Today on Buzz Cooks, I’m taking you back to Las Vegas 1979 and recreating my version of the Food Factory Mafia Burger, complete with melted cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and an incredible homemade burger sauce.
Come for the burger — stay for the Las Vegas history.
If you love old Las Vegas stories, mob-era restaurants, classic American food and recipes with a little history behind them, you’re in the right place.
