Steve Wynn (born Stephen Alan Weinberg on January 27, 1942, in New Haven, Connecticut) is a former casino mogul who transformed Las Vegas into a luxury destination. After taking over his father’s bingo business in 1963 following his father's death, Wynn moved to Las Vegas in 1967 and quickly rose to become chairman of the Golden Nugget.
His career highlights include opening the Mirage in 1989, Treasure Island in 1993, and the Bellagio in 1998, which helped redefine the Las Vegas Strip. After selling his company Mirage Resorts to MGM Grand in 2000, he launched Wynn Las Vegas in 2005 and Wynn Macau in 2006.
