An Old Fashioned, some red lipstick and a black dress…sigh, there’s just something undeniable about a good ol’ classic. The beloved Vegas showgirl may be an endangered species these days (insert tear), but “VEGAS! THE SHOW” preserved those feather-clad beauties and the likes of an era when everything was flashier and dripping with sophistication. What’s that you ask? Can a show filled with gorgeous and talented women a la Rat Pack era really exist in the here and now? Oh yes my friend, it sure can and all we have to say is raise that curtain and let the good times roll. With a little song, a lot of dance and that certain sultry allure that only old timey Vegas could pull off, this is a trip down memory lane and, well, it’s pretty legit. The costumes are fun, funky, sexy and so real. Ok, well maybe not the candy-themed costumes but hell, their Sammy Davis Jr. sure had us pining for an autograph. For a city that was built on pure, raw talent and obviously dolla dolla bills, this show celebrates iconic moments from the city's rich entertainment history through the decades that made the Vegas we know and love today. And we’ll tip our top hats to that.

Las Vegas food off the Strip: Hawaiian poke in Henderson, TP Tea and Airoma matcha in Chinatown, Esther's Kitchen in the Arts District, and a weekend champagne brunch buffet where two of us ate for the price of one at Bacchanal.

If you've done the Strip already, this is where to eat in Vegas next: better value, more variety, and way less hype.

???? WHERE WE ATE
Poke Express (Henderson): 19 S Stephanie St, Henderson, NV 89012 · @pokeexpresslv
Rainbow poke $19.95/lb, limu poke $17.49/lb

TP Tea (Chinatown): 4770 Spring Mountain Rd #104, Las Vegas, NV 89102 · @tptea.nevada
Lychee bliss fruit tea with lychee jelly, mango pomelo sago

Esther's Kitchen (Arts District): 1131 S Main St, Las Vegas, NV 89104 · @estherskitchenlv

Airoma Cafe (Chinatown): 5845 Spring Mountain Rd #120, Las Vegas, NV 89146 · @airomacafe
Matcha einspänner and Vietnamese egg coffee

Market Place Buffet at The Resort at Summerlin: 221 N Rampart Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89145
$36.99 weekend champagne brunch, Sat & Sun 9 am to 2 pm. About 13 miles from the Strip.

Prices are from our July 2026 visit and may change.

???? Why is Las Vegas called Hawaii's "ninth island"? Since the 1970s, so many islanders have moved to Vegas that the city earned the nickname, and it's why the valley has so much great Hawaiian food.
