Marv, a tough, relentless brute with a code of honour, hunts the killer of Goldie, the woman who showed him kindness and love. He is captured and tortured, but doesn't break until they threaten his mother and force him to confess for crimes he didn't commit. He dies defiantly in the electric chair, a true hard-boiled antihero.
