An Old Fashioned, some red lipstick and a black dress…sigh, there’s just something undeniable about a good ol’ classic. The beloved Vegas showgirl may be an endangered species these days (insert tear), but “VEGAS! THE SHOW” preserved those feather-clad beauties and the likes of an era when everything was flashier and dripping with sophistication. What’s that you ask? Can a show filled with gorgeous and talented women a la Rat Pack era really exist in the here and now? Oh yes my friend, it sure can and all we have to say is raise that curtain and let the good times roll. With a little song, a lot of dance and that certain sultry allure that only old timey Vegas could pull off, this is a trip down memory lane and, well, it’s pretty legit. The costumes are fun, funky, sexy and so real. Ok, well maybe not the candy-themed costumes but hell, their Sammy Davis Jr. sure had us pining for an autograph. For a city that was built on pure, raw talent and obviously dolla dolla bills, this show celebrates iconic moments from the city's rich entertainment history through the decades that made the Vegas we know and love today. And we’ll tip our top hats to that.

The Fremont Street Halloween night party is the centerpiece of downtown Las Vegas's Halloween celebrations. The main event is officially called "Costumes Under The Canopy™," and it is widely considered the biggest free costume party in Las Vegas.

Here is a breakdown of what makes this night so special.

???? The Main Event: Costumes Under The Canopy

This is the headline act for Halloween night (October 31st) at the Fremont Street Experience. It transforms the five-block pedestrian mall into a massive, immersive street party under the iconic Viva Vision canopy.

Admission is Free: There is no cover charge to enter the Fremont Street Experience and enjoy the main festivities, live music, and overall atmosphere.
The Grand Costume Contest: This is the heart of the night, with serious cash prizes on the line.

Total Prize Pool: $8,500 in cash prizes.
Prize Breakdown: 1st place wins $5,000**, 2nd place gets **$2,500, and 3rd place receives $1,000.
Registration: You must be 21 or older to enter. Registration typically opens at 6 p.m. or 7 p.m. at the 3rd Street Stage on the day of the event.
Contest Start: The contest begins at 10 p.m. on the 3rd Street Stage.
Live Entertainment: The party features free live music across multiple stages. Past lineups have included local favorites like Alter Ego performing a Halloween-themed set, along with fire dancing and circus performances.
Silent "Spooky" Disco: A unique feature where you grab a pair of headphones and dance to a channel of your choice, creating a silent but lively party atmosphere.
Food Trucks: A variety of food trucks are on-site to keep the party going.
???? Other Halloween Festivities on Fremont Street

The fun isn't limited to just one party. The entire area embraces the Halloween spirit with additional events throughout the weekend:

Freaks on Fremont Block Party: A separate free Halloween block party that typically takes place on the Thursday before Halloween (e.g., Oct. 29), featuring DJs and street festivities.
Bar Crawls: The area hosts organized Halloween Bar Crawls and "The Fright Crawl," which are ticketed events that guide participants through various downtown bars.
Night of the Dead: Midnight Masquerade Ball: A formal, ticketed Halloween party held at the Fremont Country Club (601 E Fremont St), featuring music, masks, and cocktails.
Haunted Heights at Legacy Club: A party at the upscale Legacy Club, located 60 floors above Fremont Street at the Circa Resort, offering stunning views and a $5,000 costume contest prize.
In short, the Fremont Street Halloween party is a massive, free, and highly energetic street festival. It's the ultimate destination for adults looking to show off their costumes, enjoy live entertainment, and experience the unique, neon-lit atmosphere of downtown Las Vegas.
