An Old Fashioned, some red lipstick and a black dress…sigh, there’s just something undeniable about a good ol’ classic. The beloved Vegas showgirl may be an endangered species these days (insert tear), but “VEGAS! THE SHOW” preserved those feather-clad beauties and the likes of an era when everything was flashier and dripping with sophistication. What’s that you ask? Can a show filled with gorgeous and talented women a la Rat Pack era really exist in the here and now? Oh yes my friend, it sure can and all we have to say is raise that curtain and let the good times roll. With a little song, a lot of dance and that certain sultry allure that only old timey Vegas could pull off, this is a trip down memory lane and, well, it’s pretty legit. The costumes are fun, funky, sexy and so real. Ok, well maybe not the candy-themed costumes but hell, their Sammy Davis Jr. sure had us pining for an autograph. For a city that was built on pure, raw talent and obviously dolla dolla bills, this show celebrates iconic moments from the city's rich entertainment history through the decades that made the Vegas we know and love today. And we’ll tip our top hats to that.

Ellis Island Casino & Hotel (off-Strip at 4178 Koval Lane, near the Las Vegas Strip) completed its multi-phase $35 million renovation and expansion project. The work, which ran from roughly 2024 into mid-2026, nearly doubled the casino floor while modernizing the property and keeping its signature value (cheap drinks, low table minimums, hearty food, and friendly vibe).

Key New/Updated Features (as of July 2026):

Expanded & Renovated Casino Floor: Nearly 250 new slot and video poker machines in the new wing, plus a full refresh of the original space. Higher ceilings, modern lighting with a sci-fi feel, new earthy-toned carpeting, updated seating, marble columns, wood finishes, large windows with automatic shades, chandeliers, and custom artwork. The result is a brighter, more spacious ~35,000 sq ft casino with an expanded table games pit (low minimums on blackjack, craps, roulette).

New Center Casino Bar: 25-seat centerpiece bar with bar-top games under a massive 50-foot LED screen — great for sports and hanging out.

High-Limit Gaming Area: Dedicated higher-stakes slots section in the new expansion.

Boomer's Sportsbook: Nevada’s only independent sportsbook, open with sharp odds, promotions, and easy mobile betting. Located near the new bar and tables.

The Deck Rooftop Bar: Brand-new open-air rooftop spot with excellent Strip views. Offers seasonal cocktails, local beers, shareable plates, TVs, live DJs on weekends, and VIP seating. Great for private events (reservations recommended).

Exterior Facade: Striking new LED screen wall (over 1,200 sq ft) that lights up the property.

Village Pub & Café (Now Finished): Fully remodeled and open. Features a larger new gaming bar as a central hub for drinks, slots/video poker, and socializing, plus an updated restaurant layout for better flow. It keeps the same beloved value-priced classics and old-Vegas character that made it a staple since 1968.

Karaoke (Now Permanently in The Front Yard): The original Karaoke Lounge has been fully renovated and the experience has moved permanently to the indoor/outdoor Front Yard venue. You’ll find it there with its big screen, garden vibe, and Strip views.

Other Food & Amenities: Metro Pizza and Via Focaccia are back in the new space. The Front Yard remains a popular beer garden/tailgate spot with an 18-foot big screen. Hotel rooms are fully renovated, and there’s a refreshed loyalty program with new tiers and perks. Value deals (food specials, free play promos, etc.) are still a big part of the identity.

The property now feels noticeably brighter and more modern while staying true to its local, affordable roots.
