The Culinary Union may be going on strike with 50,000 employees as soon as June 1, 2018. Employees want a better wage, tougher rules on sexual misconduct, and protection from advancements in technology that would automate their jobs to be done by robots. MGM Resorts and Caesars Entertainment are the two major companies that would be affected the most if a strike were to take place. This comes at an interesting time because the Vegas Golden Knights are in the Stanley Cup Finals of the NHL Playoffs, many families will begin to visit Vegas during the summer as their kids are finishing the school year, and Nevada has a low unemployment rate right now. I talked to a few union employees that work on the strip, and they do not think that a strike will take place. What do you think?
