In this video, I discuss the city's vulnerabilities heading into the year 2022 and how both internal and external factors can influence the success of Las Vegas. First, I talk about how the COVID-19 pandemic is yet to be put in the rear mirror as I predict masks mandates and vaccination statuses will play a big role in how the year will pan out in Sin City. I also discuss the importance of business trips and conventions, many of which are still being postponed or held virtually, ultimately affecting visitor traffic. Next, I discuss the legalization of gambling in other jurisdictions across the world, as well as the increased popularity in online gambling that will compete against Vegas and pressure the city to diversify even more than it already has. Lake Mead water levels continue to plummet which could have some adverse affects on the Strip and elsewhere in the valley. Finally, I talk about how it is becoming more expensive to visit Las Vegas as the infamous fees are looking to go nowhere but up.
