An Old Fashioned, some red lipstick and a black dress…sigh, there’s just something undeniable about a good ol’ classic. The beloved Vegas showgirl may be an endangered species these days (insert tear), but “VEGAS! THE SHOW” preserved those feather-clad beauties and the likes of an era when everything was flashier and dripping with sophistication. What’s that you ask? Can a show filled with gorgeous and talented women a la Rat Pack era really exist in the here and now? Oh yes my friend, it sure can and all we have to say is raise that curtain and let the good times roll. With a little song, a lot of dance and that certain sultry allure that only old timey Vegas could pull off, this is a trip down memory lane and, well, it’s pretty legit. The costumes are fun, funky, sexy and so real. Ok, well maybe not the candy-themed costumes but hell, their Sammy Davis Jr. sure had us pining for an autograph. For a city that was built on pure, raw talent and obviously dolla dolla bills, this show celebrates iconic moments from the city's rich entertainment history through the decades that made the Vegas we know and love today. And we’ll tip our top hats to that.

Las Vegas now holds a world record, and it belongs to a whole lot of very happy, very wet dogs.

On Sunday, Sept. 27, Doodlepalooza 2026 at Cowabunga Canyon in the southwest valley set the Guinness World Record for the most dogs at a dog pool party.

The final count: 296 dogs.

That beat the old record of 276, set by Chewy in Florida earlier this year.

It was the first time the event was held, and it happened during National Dog Week.

It was not just for fun, either. Doodlepalooza raised money for Doodle Rescue, a local nonprofit that covers vet care, fostering and adoptions for dogs who need a home.

Honestly, this is the kind of Las Vegas news we need more of.

Our feeds are full of rates, budgets and road closures. Then a waterpark in Spring Valley fills up with nearly 300 dogs paddling around, and suddenly everyone is smiling.

It also says something about this valley. Las Vegas is a dog town. Walk any park in Spring Valley, Summerlin or Mountains Edge on a cool morning and count the leashes.

When the summer heat finally breaks, local dog owners show up. Almost 300 of them, apparently, all at the same pool.

The rescue side matters too. Doodle Rescue USA takes foster and adoption applications all year. If a record-setting pool party made you want a dog, that is a good place to start.

And if anyone in Florida is thinking about taking the record back, Las Vegas dog owners seem ready to defend it.

Was your dog one of the 296, and would you bring them back for a rematch?
