An Old Fashioned, some red lipstick and a black dress…sigh, there’s just something undeniable about a good ol’ classic. The beloved Vegas showgirl may be an endangered species these days (insert tear), but “VEGAS! THE SHOW” preserved those feather-clad beauties and the likes of an era when everything was flashier and dripping with sophistication. What’s that you ask? Can a show filled with gorgeous and talented women a la Rat Pack era really exist in the here and now? Oh yes my friend, it sure can and all we have to say is raise that curtain and let the good times roll. With a little song, a lot of dance and that certain sultry allure that only old timey Vegas could pull off, this is a trip down memory lane and, well, it’s pretty legit. The costumes are fun, funky, sexy and so real. Ok, well maybe not the candy-themed costumes but hell, their Sammy Davis Jr. sure had us pining for an autograph. For a city that was built on pure, raw talent and obviously dolla dolla bills, this show celebrates iconic moments from the city's rich entertainment history through the decades that made the Vegas we know and love today. And we’ll tip our top hats to that.

???? Before timelines, live streams, and constant updates, there was 1999.
The final year of the 20th century didn’t go quietly—especially not in the Western United States. It roared. It flooded. It shook. It protested. It celebrated. And all of it happened under the strange glow of an approaching millennium.

This light-hearted documentary looks back at what 1999 felt like out West, where California, Colorado, Nevada, Washington, and beyond became a stage for triumph, tragedy, spectacle, and seismic change.

???? The Winter X Games turning mountain towns into extreme sports capitals
???? The Denver Broncos’ Super Bowl victory and John Elway’s storybook exit
???? Environmental crises, flash floods, and earthquakes that rattled the West
???? The arrival of the Dreamcast and the next wave of gaming
???? Toy Story 2, Tarzan, and a last burst of 90s pop culture magic
⚽ The Women’s World Cup final that electrified Pasadena
✊ The WTO protests in Seattle and the sound of a movement rising
???? The looming Y2K scare—and the quiet curiosity of December 31

From Columbine to the Hector Mine earthquake, from Las Vegas spectacle to Hollywood glamour, 1999 wasn’t just a year. It was a mood. A strange mix of optimism, anxiety, excess, and anticipation.

This is a nostalgic look back at the last loud, unpredictable, analog year before everything tipped into the 2000s. Before social media. Before smartphones. Before history sped up.

Midnight was coming. The West was wide awake.

Feel free to draw parallels to Weird History's own excellent series of year-by-year events. I'm not trying to steal anyone's thunder here, just adapting a great idea to my neck of the woods! ????
