Nothing reveals real-deal star power quite like a computer webcam, a light-up keyboard and a heartfelt ballad. Three years ago, 13-year-old Canadian Tate McRae posted the video “i wrote a song… one day” to her YouTube channel, and it blew up. The reason? As Tate’s now two million-strong subscribers like to say: She’s 0% auto-tune, 0% fake, 100% talent. Ever since, she's kept her channel poppin with a steady stream of vids and songs. Dedicated to an impressive level of candor, the Alberta native has posted performances from her bedroom, her bathroom, heck, even her parent’s car in the middle of a rainstorm. The formally trained dancer took creative control in our DSCVR studio too, choreographing the movement for her “all my friends are fake."
