Jesus Christ is our God and Saviour.
1. In salvation work, he was one with God. V. 17, Rom. 8:28, Eph. 2:8-10. The Triune God has been united in their plans in eternity.
2. In will and purpose, he is one with the Father. V.19
3. In knowledge and love he is one with the Father. V.20, Rom. 11:33-34, Prov. 8:24-30, John 6:61-62, 2Tim.1:10.
4. Jesus lays claim to divine sovereignty and is, therefore, one with the Father. V.21
5. In divine honour and worship, he is one with the Father. V.22-23, Col.1:14-18
6. In imparting life, he is one with the Father. V.24-26, Eph.2:1
7. In judicial (legal) power and authority, he is one with the Father. V.27, Phil.2:5-11
APPLICATION.
Receive eternal life through Jesus Christ.
How? V. 24 – hear God’s word and believe Him.
- we need to confess our sins
- come before God in prayer
- ask for conviction
- ask for humility – seek repentance
