Crush American Grill, the restaurant serving modern American standards for more than a decade at the MGM Grand on the Las Vegas Strip, is closing, Crush announced in a Friday statement for Neon.

”Crush American Grill will close its doors after service on Saturday, Sept. 12. We’re thankful to MGM Grand Hotel & Casino for a fantastic partnership; it has been an honor to be a part of the legendary casino,” the announcement reads.

“We also want to thank our wonderful back-of-house and front-of-house team members, who have delivered an exceptional experience since we opened our doors in 2013. We are grateful to our many visitors who made Crush a regular part of their visits to Las Vegas, and especially to our fellow Las Vegas locals. We welcome you to join us again in these final weeks.”

Crush belongs to the Vegas-based Morton Group portfolio of husband-and-wife owners Michael and Jenna Morton. Besides Crush, the group includes La Cave Food & Wine Hideaway in Wynn Las Vegas, One Steakhouse in Virgin Hotels Las Vegas and Nudo Italiano in the southwest.

???? Ri Ra Irish Pub
In my opinion, they have some of the best fish and chips in Las Vegas.

???? Flanker’s Kitchen + Sports Bar
A great spot to watch sports with tons of TVs showing the biggest games.

???? The Vinyl Room
A brand new lounge with incredible views of the Las Vegas Strip. I haven’t personally checked it out yet, but I’ve heard great things. It recently went through a renovation, so it’s definitely worth checking out.

???? 1923 Prohibition Bar
A hidden speakeasy style bar that’s a fun spot to explore if you’re looking for something a little different.

Don’t forget about the free tram! It connects Mandalay Bay, Luxor, and Excalibur and is an easy way to get around. Saves you time and it’s free.

Sometimes the best trips are the ones where you do a whole lot of nothing. ????

In this episode of Katching Up With Katie, I’m recapping my much-needed trip to Las Vegas — complete with Cirque du Soleil, way too much gelato, a little gambling, and temperatures that made me feel like I was standing inside an air fryer. We also somehow end up reminiscing about one of our favorite (and most chaotic) trips to Oregon, including wild horses, a very grumpy fishing guide, and a bear prank that went a little too far.

Then Nate and Matt take us through their VERY fancy night out at a Michelin-star restaurant in Nashville, from a 14-course tasting menu to wine pairings and food so good it apparently brought them to tears. Meanwhile, I explain why my picky eating makes that entire experience sound equally fascinating and terrifying.

And because we can never stay on one topic for long, we also get off on tangents about Dungeons & Dragons, making friends as adults, and plenty of other completely unexpected things along the way.

This is the most famous steak in Vegas, and it has a worldwide. The fresh meats at Hell’s Kitchen, Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant, are cooked a little and well covered with mustard Then it’s covered with porchetta and placed on a layer of pastry covered with ground mushrooms, and then it’s baked in the oven after being covered. The Great Greek is giving Las Vegas Academy of the Arts students a new muse.

The Muse Cafe, that is.

Nick Della Penna, co-founder and co-owner of The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill — which has 11 locations in Southern Nevada and 85 franchisees around the country and the world — is adding a coffee shop to his portfolio.

But The Muse Cafe, at 601 E. Bridger Ave., across the street from LVA, is strictly a passion project. Della Penna, president of the Friends of LVA Foundation, will donate 100 percent of the profits to the school, where his daughter, Soaren, is a junior majoring in visual arts.

“I don’t want to make a dime out of this. I’m doing well with The Great Greek. This is for the school,” he said. “I want them to feel like this is their coffee shop. I want them to come before school, after school, before performances, after performances. Just for it to be a comfort zone for them. The location makes it absolutely perfect. It’s the LVA coffee shop.

“We’re going to have some super cool comfortable furniture and a bunch of charging jacks where they can plug in their Chromebooks or their laptops and get some work done or study.”
